I Asked Agents What They Prioritised When Joining a New Brand. Here is What They Said...

Over the past few months, we have had the privilege of welcoming several experienced agents to our team. One of the first questions I asked them was:
“What are the top five things an agent should do when moving to a new brand?”
Here’s what they told me and I think it’s worth sharing with anyone considering a move or starting fresh.
1. Announce the Move with Confidence
Almost every agent said the same thing: “Tell your story before someone else does.” Whether it’s through a WhatsApp voice note, social media post, or email to your clients, it is important to explain why you’ve made the change and how it benefits your clients. Authenticity and confidence go hand in hand.
2. Update Everything – Immediately
From email signatures and listing platforms to social bios and business cards, consistency is key. “I wanted people to see that I was fully in,” one agent said. It sends the right message that you’re serious and ready for business.
3. Dive into the Systems and Support
“I joined because of the tools… and then forgot to use them!” one agent laughed. It’s easy to get caught up in the transition and delay the learning curve, but those who jumped straight into the CRM, marketing tools, and training found their confidence (and production) grew faster.
4. Reconnect With Your Database
The move gave many agents a perfect opportunity to touch base with their clients and network. “It wasn’t a cold call, I had a reason to reach out,” one said. Reintroducing themselves through calls, DMs or voice notes helped rekindle relationships and secure new leads.
5. Be Present and Get Involved
Finally, everyone agreed on this: don’t sit back and wait. Show up to meetings, go on show, join group chats, and share wins. “The more visible I was, the more support I received. It built momentum.”
These are simple steps but when done with intention, they turn a brand switch into a business relaunch.
If you have recently changed brands, what did you prioritise?
