This video is a powerful reminder of what it truly takes to succeed in business, in creative industries, in life. It’s not just about passion or talent. It’s about daily discipline, showing up when it’s hard, and staying focused when no one is applauding; think about it as breathing!
It reminded me of my daughter, Hannah Ray, a 26-year-old singer, songwriter, and producer who has sacrificed ease and comfort to stay committed to her vision. She’s still living at home, not because she hasn’t moved forward, but because she made a conscious choice to give everything to her music. She has taken on difficult jobs, made personal sacrifices, and centred every decision around her craft. And now, the results are showing:
🎤 Hannah and her band were invited to perform at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival last month which is a major milestone for any artist and she is just about to release her first EP with the Stay Low South African record label. (proud Mumma moment)
This didn’t happen overnight. It’s the product of consistency, hard work, and an unshakable sense of purpose that I am in awe of! They do say we learn a lot from our children.
A reminder to all of us in business: talent is important, but grit wins over time.
